Are you tired of all the violence on TV and in movies?
Are you aware of the harm that this violence does in the world?
Do you want to do something about it?
A non violent movie foundation is forming now, and more help is needed.
I am not going to try to educate TV and film producers about how they are making the world worse when they produce violent shows and movies. Instead, I want to encourage filmmakers, especially young filmmakers, to make meaningful, non violent movies. It is possible to make non violent movies that make money, and money is something the producers understand.
I want to start something I am tentatively calling THE MEANINGFUL NON VIOLENT MOVIE FOUNDATION. (I am not stuck on this name, and I am open to suggestions for a different name) I want to show that meaningful, non violent movies can make money, and thereby influence others to make them too.
It is possible to make a feature length movie, using new low cost technology, for as little as $100,000. (Though $200,000 to $300,000 makes it easier.) Even in this tough economy, movies are still profitable, and lower cost movies can be even more profitable.
My dream..... to encourage filmmakers to make meaningful, non violent movies, through a non profit foundation. The intent of this foundation will be to promote and encourage young filmmakers to make non violent movies. Movies that inspire, and touch the heart in some way. (I have a link below which tells why violent movies are harmful) This foundation will give small grants of about $1500 to filmmakers wanting to make a meaningful short film. After the filmmaker has made several such films, he or she will be eligible for a grant of around $20,000, as seed money towards a feature film. The foundation would get a share of the profits to help keep it going. Seminars and workshops will be offered free to filmmakers, to explain why violent movies are harmful, and to encourage them to make meaningful movies. Over time, some of these filmmakers will make movies seen by many millions of people! This will be a non profit foundation, and donors and supporters will be needed.

The first steps:
1. A dedicated website, with a registered domain name. I would like to have enough money to pay for the name
| NEEDED RIGHT NOW.......I have had supportive emails and I
appreciate this. But right now, I need your help in the following
ways: 1. $150. When this amount comes in I will make the webpage with a dedicated domain name, and pay for it for 2 or 3 months, and trust more money will come in to keep it going. 2. Someone to spend $1 and start checking out suitable celebrities to contact regarding donations. This person will make a list, and start formulating a mail out plan. No one has done this yet, it is an opportunity for you. 3. A lawyer/attorney to come on board to set up the non profit foundation. Or a donation to come in to cover this cost. 4. An administrator type person to come on board to take over areas where I am lacking. I will be much encouraged to have someone actually doing some hands on work. 5. Everyone reading this to copy the link on this page, and send it to at least one other person by email today, and to also place at least one free craiglist ad or other free ads with the link. Please do this today, while you are thinking about it. 2. Set up a non profit, non violent movie foundation. I am guessing this would cost about $3000 for legal fees.
3. A small office, with a phone and a computer, with the rent paid for at least one year. I think this would cost about $10,000.
4. A volunteer person to be in the office for limited hours each week, and to also take calls at home. A paid person would be more ideal, to be in the office 30 to 40 hours per week. This person would also do promo work, placing ads and comments on craigslist and forums and blogs.
5. More ideally, an office with a larger room attached, where I could present free workshops on low cost filmmaking, and seminars on the harm that violent movies do to the world. Others could use this room also, to talk about non violent movie production and ideas. This might cost $20,000 per year.
6. Find other volunteers, supporters, sponsors and donors, to get more funding, so we can start offering the small grants to young filmmakers as outlined above.
So you can see that money is needed. But to start, just with the website, as little as $500 is needed to have a website operational for a year.

Please note that with the new foundation that I want to start, outlined here, there will be no connection to the movie, and that I am not asking supporters of this foundation to also support my movie. Once a bit of money comes in, I want a separate domain and separate website.

I believe that there are some movie stars and movie
producers who will be interested in helping us with this,
if we can just find them. I think that some actors are tired of
making meaningless, stupid movies and they will want to be
part of this, and want to star in the movies the foundation
supports as well. This will make it much easier to get funding!
I found a site that supplies celebrity addresses, but I do not
have the time or money to pursue it. If you are interested in
doing this, you can go to the site about finding celebrities,
and at no cost, check to see which celebrities have
contributed

celebrities by name, and you can also search "causes" and
see
which celebrities have supported which causes in the past.
You can get a one week trial memberships for $1, and
after that it is only $27 per month. If you need help
composing a letter to send to the celebrities that you
pick, let me know and I can help you write it.
This might be a fun way for you to help!
If you know others who would be interesting in supporting this
foundation and what it stands for, please tell them. The results

NOTE: The foundation can be located anywhere, and it
will help the whole world. Ideally, an office in LA and
another in Vancouver would be great. Both cities are
major film centres, and movies can be made cheaper in
Vancouver, which is a big consideration for low budget
movies.
